I’m very much into yoga these days. When I was trying to get my life back into perspective after being really stressed and depressed, it helped me put my feet back on the ground, and sort my brain out. And as this blog is all about life hacks for well-being and getting back to being you, I think this is one of the best!

Now, I totally agree that this all sounds like hippy stuff. Yoga, meditation, zen… it creates images of umming, chanting, and an old, wise guru with long beards sitting in lotus position.

But when you get to the basics of yoga and meditation, it’s very simple. And we do is all the time, just not enough. :)

So what really is Yoga?

For those who don’t know, the purpose of yoga, essentially, is to connect the mind and the body. It is based on meditation, which encourages you to rest your mind, and move your body. This is excellent for your overall well being. This is the opposite of sitting at a desk on Facebook or reading blogs, where your mind is going at a mile per minute but you’re sat on your bum, all day, every day.

Zen is basically the terminology for a rested mind and an engaged body. Yoga helps you get there because it does just that.

So sex is basically the same thing.

It brings you back to the present moment. If you do it successfully (haha), you are fully in the moment, are exercising your body (hopefully) and resting your mind (unless it wanders- yikes)! It can be really good for your health, therefore, to have good, meaningful and mindful sex as regularly as possible.

Just what the doctor ordered- hehe. A therapist probably would as well- and let’s face it, it’s cheap!
